No doubt there is an enabler involved in these types of situations. I've always thought when I hear about people getting so large they can no longer move or get up at all, that they have people feeding them then. There has to come a point, before they cannot move anymore, where you just say "No, I'm not going to get anything for you, I'm not going to cook for you, go do it yourself." And if I ever fed them it would not be 50 porkchops or something. No doubt the problem needs to be addressed way before anyone gets that large, but I suppose it can be hard on family members, especially if they are the children doing all the cooking and taking care of, etc. If there isn't already, I think there should be some kind of hotline that a person could call, wherein professionals could come in and help the person both pysically and mentally. Of course this would mean house calls, so not sure if that type of thing is available. It's really sad if you ask me, it's a shame they were not able to save her.
