Cover yourseld as much as possible and get a hose on them. IIRC they have trouble flying if their wings are soaked. (I could be thinking of other instects, however. So wait for confirmation before trying my idea.) There's also my pyro idea
. stop up the entrance to the hive somehow and set it on fire. But that seems illogical considering the proximity to your wood shed.
