if you want to level fast try a shaman; a non-twink shaman well played can level ridiculously fast.
Ive played a priest and a rogue and i like them both; but they play completely differently. the rogue is a lot less powerful than the priest when it comes to soloing ability mainly because the priest can take on 3 or 4 mobs her level while the rogue can only take on 1 or 2 at a time. So that basically means my priest can generally complete quests that say you need a group to beat as well as quests that are red. of course she also kills things a little more slowly so it can make grinding take a bit longer if you dont like doing quests for experience.
other popular choices are druid & paladin since they are very versatile.
