well, I totally agree with you on the fact that games like BG1 should be played with a lot of your own roleplaying fantasies. That's just what the genre makes fun and you can't really do it with other types of games. Besides that I am one person that lives his life for let's say 50% out of reality. I am almost always fantasizing about being an inhabitant of a world like the "Forgotten Realms" I mean: my only hobbies are music, fantasy Books and RPG-games, all of those are very fitting for role-playing so that figures. I'm not mad though I'm just crazy. 
About the Speed Competition; well I'm not on that board but I do like the idea very much and I will probably try it out soon. I am just not that good at writing interesting/funny stories like those on that board. (I tried a little though > see the "State your Character" thread on the BGII board)
