Funny, so many of us spent tons of hours playing BG1 and 2, and at the end we happily rerolled and did it all again. Even though there are only so many ways to kill Tiax, and there are only so many times you can take Saemon Havarian without going bonkers. No one got to the end of all the "grinding" xp goblins in "That map east of..." and said "I have nothing to show for it."

Learn to balance, people. I play WoW a TON -- but I always played video games a ton, and now it's just that there's one game I like to play.

And the whole "raiding is boring" group never raided much. It's incredibly hard and fun to learn many of these fights, and yes you do them a dozen or so times each, and then move on. This is not "grinding." This is "learning a new part of the game" "killing a new boss" and, most of all "fun." And if it's not, don't do it. But 99% the people who say raiding is no fun never succeeded at downing the first boss in BWL and got burnt out on the fact that Molten Core is a remedial course in "tank and spank" raiding that everyone must learn before moving onto more complicated stuff.

WoW is more acutely a very fun alternative cartoon life than anything I've seen. Will the game get boring in 3 or 6 months? Maybe. It hasn't for me in a year, but your mileage may vary. Most games bore me inside of 2 months or so, that's never stopped me from playing them before.

Enjoy the game, Larry. I'm on Dalaran server, and if you play there give me a whisper and say hi. Character's name is Ingafel.
