WOW is a lot of farming.

But, it's cool too. What Luvian didn't tell you was that while doing those long raids, you are also doing 8 or more very cool, very different, very interesting, and quite difficult boss fights.

I mean, if you don't like strategy and cooperation and tactics and pre-planning, then of course a MMO raid isn't for you.

Now, add into this that, for instance, during what luvian would consider my waste of a Friday night raiding tonight, I'm going to:
- go out first if I like
- begin the raid at 10pm
- drink an incredibly unhealthy amount of alcohol
- laugh my ass off in a 40-man voice chat with 39 other people who are all doing the same and
- if I'm lucky, take home phat lewt that feels like Christmas, and finally
- crash out at 3 or 4 am after video gaming all night, which is what I'd do anyway.

Now, as for the "5 hour queue" for PVP, there's a simple solution. It's called the Horde. Try a 5 minute queue. And if you can't get in a PVP Battleground, go attack another faction's village, and PVP will come running to you.

If you don't like farming, which I don't, then don't do it. I have like ZERO reputation with many of the factions, and the only good reputation I do have comes from simply doing dungeons and raids that beget reputaion for certain factions, and I would do those dungeons and raids anyway.

Don't like farming money, solutions abound. First off, doing dungeons begets money, raids tend to eat your money (consumables). Trade skills can make you money. I've sold countless bags that I just sew up, and the income's pretty good. Items I can't use I will sell or disenchant and sell the reagents. And if you really can't be bothered, then just buy gold -- sites abound and Blizzard doesn't really give 2 farts about it, from what I understand. Employ the chinese to farm video games for us rather than make crappy Wal-Mart DVD players.

I have played WOW for about 8 months now, and there are places I still haven't seen and things I still haven't done. Sure, I do the same dungeons over and over, but so what? I like them. Just like I play any video game over and over.
