Maraudon is way hard until you know the tricks. The first time you're there, you've already been grinding the elementals outside the entrance and killing Kahns for quests. Then you have to renew all those vines inside, which takes forever, has annoying little fights, and can be deadly if you get a wandering centaur add. Then you run across the first slimes and they toast your butt, wiping your party a time or two with thier crazy aoe. Then some fighter gets pissed that his gear is busted, and quits. Then you learn some things. You learn you can reset the instance and just do the first 3-4 vines to cap that quest. Then you learn how to kite the slugs, you convince your warriors to only use their guns and bows, and it goes much more smoothly.

But, yes, that first time or two in, you're like "what a wretched place."

Un'Goro is very isolated and has that jungle feel to it like STV does (prehistoric is what they we're going for). I disliked both at first but they grew on me. I won't say Un'goro is very solo-friendly though, with all the wandering elites and spawns. Still, I fondly remember the days atop that volcanic mountain...
You know, I'm not fond of the jungles and swamps in the game. I don't think I did one single quest in STV. With all the level ranges and tightness of the area, it just doesn't appeal to me at all. Swamp of sorrows is also a place where I went for a few isolated things, but that's it. I did Sunken Temple last night for the 2nd time, but still haven't gotten one single quest there. Un'goro looks a bit less annoying, in part because it's not so large. Getting to, and traveling through, Tanaris is annoying though.
