Hay Ziroc sorry you didn't get picked.
Do to the DUNGEON'S & DRAGON'S ONLINE: Stormreach preview and
NON-DISCLOUSURE AGREEMENT that I signed I can't post the 200 plus in
game screen shots that I have taken so far yet, Soon I'll be able to
I can tell you all that DDO is better than I ever hoped it would be. It has
surpassed perfection of the 3.5 rules and they work great. Since the start of the second week I haven't seen any glitches or bugs and there were very few before that. The character creation is really cool and classy. So far I have tried 4 different characters and duel classed only one, My Ranger/Mage is great but in no way can anyone solo this game after you reach the level 3 missions, adventures & quests. There are emotes but none of the stupid Dance party crap that goes on in Guild Wars.
Think back to the old day of PnP when you explored dungeons. Back when there was no such thing as hack and slash and charging into the bad guys but instead you had to fight smart think as a group what you were going to do starting by sending a scout or thief or rogue ahead of the group slowly with your ranger setting back at a distance bow poised waiting for the traps to be found and marked or disarmed. Then sending your warrior and fighters in following at a safe distance. All the while your cleric and mage staying saftely behind with their ranged weapons in the ready watching the rear and waiting for the word ahead that the way is clear or the alert that their spell power is needed to protect or assist the fighters ahead or to tend the wounds as the fight goes on.
Everyone is tence as you move slowly ahead and then the Kobolds come out of no where your under attack your Rogue is in dire danger and your fighters are responding to repel the suprise attack the Kobolds are everywhere then the magic missle flies into the middle of the battle and the first 5 Kobolds burst into flames your mage is already with a second spell as your fighter then finishes them off and the ranger launches arrow after arrow into the three kobolds that have your rogue trapped on top a pile of boxes fighting for his life as the Paladins Two Handed +2 Sword finishes the battle and the cleric is busy healing.
Well thats DDO and its GGGGGGREATTTTTTTTTT. Every adventure is like the one above and most are 10 times more exciting. After each Battle you exhale and find yourself half out of breath and your heart pounding as your Cleric heals your group. Then you continue on ahead around the next corner as your Scout sneeks along in the shadows to find that next killer fire trap before it blasts its death blaze and kills him or the members following behind of catches site of the next danger what ever it may be.
Those of you that know me, know how much I like Guild Wars and the fact that I had close to 1500 - 2000 hrs in game in the first few months. Well since the third Day that The DDO Alpha/Beta 1 started I have only played DDO. I finally found a MMORPG that I will pay a monthly fee to play. Every night after work I click on the game to see if the guys I play with are on or not and if they are I click on them to see what were ready to tackle next.
DDO "RULES" and from what I understand its really close to release but I hope to get at least another 4 or 5 weeks for free beta play.
Dungeons and Dragons is back Ziroc so say goodby to the cartoon games for awhile and now the war of the MMO games will be between DDO and Neverwinter Nights II. From what I have seen so far DDO Kicks Ass and with some 1200 plus adventures already in their back pocket at wizards of the coast to work with I feel DDO may have an unfair advantage.
During this next two weeks I'm trying to win an in game contest that will allow me to invite a friend to join the remainder of the beta so If I am one of the winners I'll contact you Ziroc and you can have it. Just wish I could win enough to pass around to a bunch of our IW members.
Talk to you later it's 4:40 now and in 20 min I have to meet 5 others of my group and were going to the outpost to save the city from the Kobold army by sneeking into their incampment and takeing out their comanders level 4 super hard mission. Later gang.
