In my experience, Evil parties handle most encounters *much* easier than good parties, in particular if your PC is a Fighter-type.

Other non-good NPC's to add - Jan, Yoshimo, & Cernd. OK, Cernd sucks, but Jan is pretty useful for Evil parties. Imoen will love ya no matter what your alignment. In Throne of Bhaal, you get another excellent Evil NPC option.

Anti-Paladins' Dispel ability is *way* overpowered, IMO. Simply because, as Six said, it is effective with any of the high-end weapons in the game (or even a normal dagger), not just Carsomyr (or SotM, which few Fighters wield), & you can get Grand Mastery in whatever weapon type you want (as opposed to being limited to 2 stars in 2-H Weapons). Also, I don't think the Githyanki Anti-Paladins are really Anti-Paladins, as per the kit, but rather Fighter-types with the name "Anti-Paladin", with no kit abilities.

Finally, it's impossible to cast Pro-Magic Weapons while Pro-Normal Weapons is active (& vice versa). The second will fizzle. Same with trying to cast Pro-Normal Weapons with any of the Mantle spells. Your PC can get "immune to <+1 weapons" via the Hell trials & still cast Pro-Magic Weapons, however.
