Runescape is an 3D online RPG where you create a character and build up his stats by gaining experience in many different areas of skill - Combat, cooking, mining, smithing, fishing, crafting, magic, prayer, firemaking, woodcutting, and more! The game is
free (although you can pay to become a member, gaining benefits such as access to new areas, skills and quests). You do not need broadband to play (I played it well before I got broadband) and the game still doesn't take too long to long with a modem.
I recommend it.
