Hey guys, I'm having my monthly computer problems again

There's a .dat file on my harddisk and whatever I try, I cannot seem to delete it (and I want to!!!) , because "Someone is still using it". As far as I can see, there's no one or no program using it, so it's really beginning to bug me. Furthermore, I've tried a shredding program to chop it up, I've tried deleting it in DOS, to no avail. It's not an AVI file, so it's not that WinXP bug (I'm working with WinXP Pro). Help!! [img]graemlins/scream.gif[/img]

System specs
Windows XP Professional
AMD 1500+
