The son had to cut his hair to be allowed to drive. He was trying to say that all the famous people in tbe Bible had long hair so he should be allowed to as well. Then his father pointed out that they all walked everywhere as well implying that they weren't allowed to drive either BECAUSE they had long hair. Bleh. A joke's always spoiled when you have to explain.
