Sadly, I think that the problems with phishing will disappear at the same time you can get people to stop clicking on the attachments in unsolicited emails. The same group of folks who don't have the skepticism to say "hey, did Johnny really send me this?" are the ones who aren't skeptical enough to say "hey, if they lost my account number, how did they have my email address?"
Social engineering (talking to people) remains one of the best ways to infiltrate almost anything... including their bank accounts.
