There is a virous running through the internet that will go into your files and randomly delete .doc files as well as .dll files.
you need to put your office 2000 disk in and reload or repair in order to reinstall your .doc file and then it should fix your problem.
Once the virous does its damage it deletes itself. it is said that it comes in with porno popups and other useless popups. it slides right past anti-virous programs because it only hits one file and is deleted itself.
