Try old school first. Power switch off, then unplug power cord, cycle power switch and on/off switch 2 times to drain any residual curretn. Plug er in, and away you go.

If she doesn't want to power back up, then that is surely power supply issue. If it does power up, but still won't load, then OS, but should be ok after power drain.

Have you by chance done anything with your BIOS recently?
