I was only joking, what I meant to say was: "I don't see the appeal of metal and I don't understand why anyone likes it, but that's just me."

It's ok, if people say all rap is mindless drivel I just look at them with great pity (or imagine I am looking at them if it's over the net) and truly feel sorry for their stupidity

or I just say that if my 50 year-old dad who mostly listens to jazz and classical, likes my rap collection (most of it), then it must be good
