epsxe is brilliant for playing PS1 games on your PC. the only problem is the leagal 'issues' surrounding getting the bios. you will need to find one to use it, and although im not going to point you to one, google is very helpful.

i really dont see the harm in emulating games. i own a PS1, and my brother owns a PS2. but the graphics on my pc are far far better than those from either platform at playing my ps1 games. you just need to tinker with the plugins
