That spot is at least the size of Earth if Im remembering the size of Jupiter correctly. My guess is its a freak windstorm, which is hardly unusual on Jupiter. Or it could be a collision impact, but it would have to be something a bit more energetic than an old probe. Cometary fragment or one of the trojan asteroids or something.
