Aelia, it's rather simple. I will choose to not contribute to overpopulation in the very small ways I can.
All of medicine, including stem cell research (and possible organ replacement), would be fine by me if we had appropriate attitudes towards child-begetting. However, since we don't, advanced medicine serves to prolong lives, and more people are born every day than the day before, making overpopulation a real issue.
If I ever am so lucky as to have kids, I won't have more than 2. Me and my wife will leave no net increase of people on the planet -- and that is a solemn promise. True, some folks here have a fair amount of kids, and may be insulted by this. To them I say, sorry, but that's how I see it.
