My favourite monsters are...

Illithids (Mind Flyers), Come on they are a pain but, hell I think it is the most feared creature in the game. They can take on Arkanis Gath and Malchor Harpell single handed
Dragons, They just look so great and are tough if you do not add some cheese
Liches, they don't look that fearsome compared with other picture's I have seen of them in AD&D books Ect., but they are able to give you a nice fight and they do that creepy walk of them (I really like there movement, sick indeed Mahlennacht )
Drow War Parties, they are excellent magic users and they look great IMHO.
