Maybe I wasn't being clear enough. As far as I can make out, GT compression is is another way of reducing file size, so just as a media player won't play a .zip or .rar file without it being unpacked, a suitable programme will be needed to extract the .avi, .mpeg or whatever from it's compressed state. Then it becomes a question of finding the appropriate video codec to allow the media player to handle the file.
