seriously: It's as simple as that. he borrowed it, he broke it, he compensates for it. Unless he finds another way (like getting a used game in good condition and giving it to you) he'll have to pay. Normally I am quick to forgive my friends if the break my things and don't ask for compensation but if I litterally get laughed at I would not understand why I should be the nice guy getting screwed.
So basically I'd root for option 2 in a normal case but in this case (mockery) I'd strongly recommend option 4 (and would be quite understanding with people who choose option 1).
