If its a hardware firewall check your manauals and open up the ports required for the game, which you can usualy find in the readme. Gamespy also requires a few ports open, cant remember which but gamespy documentation should cover it.

A software firewall should ask you if you want to allow the connection the first time you try it, after that you can usualy find it under a programs tab or somesuch.
