Actually, with the current rate of bodies stacking up and a high estimate of ten years of occupation, it COULD turn into an ungly quagmire. I can understand if you dont want to entertain this possibility, but it is a possibility. We will see. It was premature for news media to speculate two weeks into the conflict that it was a quagmire though.
The Arab street did rise up, they must not of reported it on Fox out of fears it may make the president look bad.

As far as the region being de-stabilized, that's still wait and see. It certainly hasn't become more stable yet anyway. And acts of terror worldwide did not suddenly just stop, the Saudi Arabia housing bombing as an example.
