I don't personally think films affect people in the way they are made out to, although there are exceptions to every rule and clearly a lot of people out there who take TV and Film far too literally. Some people just don't want to see the truth. It hurts, but personally I'd rather be aware of the pain than go on in my own little world, pretending everything is fine.
