My Dual Wield stealth Rogue doest die at all.
None of the characters die much with the proper tactics but Rogues can survive quite nicely, even against revenants and Dragons.

I've found that with Wynne who has 40 in Magic and Will power that the Group heal spell actually restores more points, and then I do use the single person spell to beef up whoever is lowest...but...

No he is in one of the Back Alley areas. I believe you have to pick up clues from other places...might have been in the Dalish area...I honestly dont recall where I got the first clue.

WooHoo, just killed Kangax...or gaxkang as he is called in this game...Tough fight my Rogue Assassin level 21, Sten, Oghram, and Wynne all level 20 I just turned it into a slugging match with Wynne...

My most used:
Cone of Cold + Stone fist = leads to shattering
Glyph of Paralysis + Glyph of Repulsion = Stunning explosion

Found both of those on my own though the first is apparently well known.

The cost of good arrows is why I pretty much have skipped bow and crossbow use, the only thing I use the bof for is to seperate the bad guys and minimize agro by sneaking up to just within bow shot...
