Manikus, you mentioned that you could use a character with a carat prefix, for example: ^a. But how do you assign it a value?

Carats:
The following works in all event texts-
^ - currently selected character's name is diplayed
^1, ^2,... ^8 - character at position 1 through 8 (from top to bottom) in the party line-up has her/his name displayed
^D - displays game day
^H - displays game hour
^M - displays game minute

^a through^z - the lower case (only) letters a to z represent the names of ASLs assigned to the Temporary ASL in the Logic Block Event. 'a' through 'z' must represent a string.

How long do the temp ASLs last? I remember reading that the Temp ASLs only last as long as the event they are defined in?

IIRC, you asked if they were lost at the end of play, as in they don't save from your last game.

That was a discussion between Paul and I. :) He was the one that said they only last until the end of the event, but I've used them to fire in other events...implying that they stick around for a little while. I was going by the Help guide that said they last until the end of the game session. I haven't tried to verigy this.

You can make a temporary ASL that points to a different type of ASL -> b/c you can't use the ^ trick with other ASL types, but they last through the various game sessions, and the temp ASL could just look up the info again at the start of each session.
