Ironworks Trivia wants more players!
 

As some of you know, Ironworks has a group playing in a daily Trivia contest here.

Our group has gotten down to 5-7 players per day this month, so it's time to attract some new (or returning) players.

So, if you're a new player, come check it out. A new month starts soon, so come finish out the month with us, and be ready for September.

If you used to play and don't anymore, we'd like to know what made you stop. Boredom? Too many Dark Tower questions in the Literature category? Lack of a wheel mouse to get your speed up?

I bounced a few ideas off Bungleau as things we could try if people are interested:

1. Stick with categories longer. We used to have categories last 5 days, lately it's been a new one each day. Would you rather see categories stick around longer? How long? A week? Or a month? Then we could find out who knows the most about Animals one month, and History the next.

2. Tired of the same people always winning? We could institute some kind of handicap like top 3 finishers have to skip one day per week. Or we could set up a maximum number of days per month, 25 or 28, and if you have played that many times, you have to wait until the next month (to level the field for those that just can't play every single day).

3. Don't like some of the categories? There's a couple of ideas to deal with that. We could once again have a poll or discussion about loved/hated categories, and use that to determine which ones we'll use and avoid. We could also try letting the players choose. Perhaps let the low scorer for each day pick a category they want, and have that be the next category.

Let us know what you think of these ideas--both potential new or returning players as well as current ones. Maybe we'll try to shake things up for Sept.

Don't play it using a laptop without paying attention - accidentally scrolling to wrong answers after selecting the right one is embarassing.

Ok, I'll take a look; might as well make a bigger fool of myself...

..what are the rules? Is googling allowed for answers, or just straight answers.

If you can google the answers and not run up a huge time, I'll be impressed.

10 out of 10! I'm pretty good with movies though.

You can Google for the answers if you want. Your score is simple: 100 points for every correct answer, less the number of seconds it took you to complete the quiz. If you Google, it takes more time and gives you a lower score.... sometimes, a worthy trade-off.

That kinda sucks because I got up to go to the can, say goodbye to my wife, let the cat out in the garage.. It should say that some place.

..oh, and I spent some time looking at Leelee Sobieski pics too!
