Do you remember Kali.net? (came way before Gamespy)

Man... Remember Kali? It was a program like Gamespy is now, but was out in 1995, and was the best way to find games like Descent to play others in--I remember registering Kali--the 3rd shareware program at the time I actually bought, and it was before Gamespy was Quakespy (which I registered WAY back then too).

Anyway, Remember those days? When Ad Banners didn't exist? :) I actually met my favorite Music group lead singer in a Kali channel (Kurt from Information Society--see image of him below--he was like 28 then) and we started a medium sized Descent 1 and then later Descent 2 Tournament. I was damn good at that old game.. They need to make a new Descent with today's engine, I think it'd be killer.

Anyway, Kurt and Insoc are back together and sound good! Here is a page you can listen to some sample music:
The songs Synthesizer, Like the way you Werk it, Run Away, Somnambulistic are good. Kurt now works for Crystal Dynamics. He has done all the sound work on the newer Tomb Raider games there. He's married and works, but still finds time to do some gigs each Month! :)

BTW, I went to Kali, and entered in my old reg number, and it emailed me their newer code format they use! :) It sure is a lifetime reg. (I think Quakespy--now Gamespy is lifetime too, right?) I don't use Gamespy anymore though--haven't in... oh wow, 12 years? Since games have it built in now..

Then Interplay tried to make 'Descent to Undermountain'--a AD&D game based on the Descent engine.. oh man, that game sucked, and crashed every 10 mins.. bug hell..

I remember this program, I was always been prompted to install it alongside the descent demos. Gamespy was actually good at one point, I met some nice people in the BG and IWD rooms, until it was saturated with ads, banners and spyware.

Ah! I guess if you didn't register Gamespy you get ads? weird.. sellouts. :) It began as QuakeSpy. THAT was when it rocked.. Gamespy became waaay too corporate and greedy. All they have now is that cartoon. lol
