Can anyone direct me to any important or helpful threads (or maybe sites?) about solo'ing SoA and ToB? My search option seems to have been fragged.

There is no more search option because it crashed the server.

Figures ... it always seemed to be very taxing. Taking long and such. Well just some pointers about Solo'ing then? I really need a guide. I wanna solo a mage, not with any kensai feats, but its so hard. I play on the core rules. Is that wise for a beginning solo'er? I'm not completely daft about mages, although I find it difficult to really understand which magic crushes magic defenses and such. Just a guide would be helpful.

I got this off Dundee's sig:

Solo sorcerer spells list

go do a search for Elmonster's Journal. Use any search engine you like. It is a journal of someone soloing a mage through SoA and ToB. Be warned though, it is very spoiler-heavy.

Dundee's sig is for Sorcerers though, not Mages. A subtle but important difference.

What kind of Mage do you intent to play with, Zuvio? You might want to refer to this thread to understand your spells better.

A mage can learn more spells than a sorcerer, so dundee's sig would still work. ;)

Aah, I just found SixOfSpades BG Spoiler free guide. I learned a lot about mages and sorcerers. Seems I should try solo'ing first with a mage, rather than a sorcerer to know which spells I need. And im gonna pick a conjurer first, cuz I dont think I'll be needing divine spells *that* heavily, and its worth having 1 extra spell per spell level. Or rather, when I have ToB, Ill do a wild mage, thats two days from now.

Thanks ppl.

To a certain degree. It does not cover all the spells which one should when playing with a Mage. I focus on a select few spells that work best with a Sorcerer.

To bring out the full potential in a Mage, you have to overcome his lack of versatility in spellcasting by augmenting with his versatility in spell variety.
