Oddness with new 'toon
 

A couple days ago, I decided to create a new character. I leveled her to level 2 and had to stop because I was being given the option of choosing Combat Casting and I was sure she had it already (upon creation). When I tried to view her Feats page, it refused to load - remained totally blank no matter what I did, where I moved, how many times I tried. I finally exited the server, thinking perhaps I was having a graphics glitch. Nothing else anywhere online or off was affected either before this apparent glitch or after.

A few moments ago, I tried to log into this new gal and finish levelling her so I could play. I'm getting an error message:

"Invalid character - refused player login
Character class has spell learned twice"

Um, the only way for her to have learned a spell twice is if the server glitched - she's only level 2 (meaning, I've only chosen spells once! and only from what was given as available). Could this be related to the missing Feats page?

Her Feats now show, by the way, and Combat Casting is there.

Want me to nuke it? NWN sometimes does this... its rare. Dunno about if it is about the missing Feats. I'll make a copy of this char and look and see what it up---and check the logs. Odd! :)

As I said, I thought originally the Feats page not loading/showing was just a glitch on my part - I've noticed inventory is sometimes slow to load in NWN, for instance. But I *knew* she had a feat that was being offered as if she didn't - and that was downright odd.

Today the Feats page loaded, but as I said, I couldn't log into her at all.

Z, please go ahead and delete Naredia. I've tried and tried to access her to level, and it's a no-go.

***I really think it's a server bug. I just loaded her into the NWN OC with no trouble whatsoever - and no duplicate spells are present as the EfU server keeps screaming.***

Don't suppose she is wearing any gear which gives her Combat Casting and causes this glitch?

She only has on the default sorc/wizard's robe. Combat Cast is a *feat* and she obtained it upon creation. Even so, I didn't think duplicated feats mattered - and, indeed, the error specifically says "SPELL learned twice. I have confirmed by loading her in the original campaign that is false.

Dunno. Irritating. Frustrating. Annoying.

Yeah, it was corrupt. In Leto, trying to even open the skills tab, I get a popup error box saying 'out of bounds error (27)' so somehow the data got corrupt.

I deleted her. Try to recreate her, take your time and see if it works a second time. If not, I will report the bug to Bioware.

Crazy, that -- I opened her file with Leto, no problem. *And* loaded her into other (localized) campaigns. :shrug: Dunno. Weird.
