english premier league thread

Anyone else follow the greatest sporting league in the world? I'm an aussie but have been brought up to love soccer whops i mean football ;) My dad was born in england and follows west ham. pfft. I follow Liverpool. (no jokes please) :P I thought I'd make this thread to see if any of you have any pre-season thoughts on who will be the next champs. Or if you want to discuss transfer rumers i have plenty!

Come on you reds!

Liverpool? West Ham?!? PFFT! Up the Boro I say.

It's all quiet our end really. After Didier Degard from PSG (€5mil Euros but apparently it's been stalled...), James Harper from Reading and some winger from a dutch team I think (who's name escapes me).

I'm actually quite excited for next season. Tuncay and Alves are looking like they've adapted well, got a young fit defence, just need to sort out centre midfield (hence why we're interested in loads of centre mids ;)) and we're sorted.

Think you's are going to get the title this year? :P

Man Utd will win the league, I'm sure of it. Ronaldo will stay.

Liverpool will be 3rd impo, chelsea 2nd, arsenal 4th. :D

hey hey, this is what i like to hear, someone who isn't affriad to say thier team will finish first even though man u belong on their knees! jk!!!! heh heh i have a feeling though that IF ronaldo does leave for Real Madrid man u wont find the goals needed for success, apparently madrid have offered 30,000 plus wesley snilder for ronaldo and ronaldo wants to leave so we'll see...

Downing is a good player for us. In a way, he's the big fish in a small pond. He looks good because of the incompetent midfield that we've got. I think for you guys it'd be sink or swim, he'd either shine or be shit.

And none taken, we're not the best team in the world nor do we expect to be anywhere near the top 6. Top half finish would make me happy, cup win or euro via league would make me ecstatic.

7-1 against Man City last game of the season though ;)

good point! that was an awsome game! wasnt it 8-1 !!!??!?!?

Edit: you do have apoint there as well, liverpool have a curse of buying what they feel to be promising players only for them to crumble under the pressure of high expectations.

They were succesful, they aren't anymore ;)

And if Ronaldo leaves, we will still be able to cope. Plus with the 70million we get for him (or w/e) we will be able to buy adequate cover.

But I really dont think he will leave.
