Flamestryke... RIP

It is with a heavy heart that I make the following announcement, passed on verbatim from Zedd TrueShot:

Zedd writes:
Quote:

Erika Walters, whom we all know as Flamestryke, passed away this past April. She fought the good fight against cancer for several months, but complications, as they always do, set in.

Anyone wishing to express their condolences to her family may do so by going to the link provided and selecting the "e-mail Flame" option. Her husband, I'm sure, will appreciate hearing from her many fans.

I've known Flamestryke for many years through the 3DO and MM boards, and she will be missed. I've posted this in the two other relevant boards as well.

Peace.

I did not know her, but this is terrible :(

I'm sorry to hear about this. At least she's in a better place now.

Since april? Oh gee...no wonder there wasn't any reply... I didn't know. :(

RIP Flamestryke, I'll miss you.

She passed in April, and I just found the news last night on another board (TELP's MM6 Tavern, if it matters) where they'd only discovered it last week.

Sometimes news takes a while to travel... :(

That's why I put those posts out earlier in the year. I put them not only here, but other boards as well, hoping that someone had heard something. I had emailed her several times and never got a response.
I feared the worst.

She was in really bad shape, with multiple tumors and other afflictions.

Funny how we can make friends with people we've never met...

RIP. I remember mailing her a CD with the demo version of Wizardry 8, because she hadn't been able to get it. In retrospect I'm happy to have been able to cause her at least a bit of joy.
