Demogoran Statue (Spoilers)

There is statue in the kuo-toan place in the underdark, where you summon an animal and place it there and the demogoran (I think it is spelled this way) appears. Well, I remember placing an animal at the statue and I think I fought the demogoran. However, I found out that you get some items (frost giant str girdle, armor of hart), and yet I dont have any of them. I tried to do the animal thing again, but nothing happens. Any suggestions? I wanted to make the crom fayer, and found that I need the girdle of frost giant strength.

Are you killing the animal? Or just summoning it? Because the whole point of a ritualistic sacrifice is the presence of blood :D

Did you kill everything the statue summoned?

Spoiler for If you're desperate to know...:
The statue, if I remember correctly, summons four/five demon knights. Some drop the treasure you want

Spoiler for Fairly detailed spoiler, beware:
Send a summoned creature onto the pedestal, this you may already know. I don't recall encountering the demogorgon in my experiences, but 5 demonknights are summoned and one can drain levels, he has the soul reaver blade and the belt you seek.

If I'd remembered how to do the spoiler hide-a-box I'd probably have used it before. hehe.

Yes, I remember having killed the 5 demon knights, but for some reason I didn't get the items.

Hmm, then I have Four potential options for you

1) Check the locations of each corpse for the dropped treasure, just to be thorough.

2) if you still have it go to a previous save and try again

3) use the console to bring up the items. Having completed the prerequisit task you wouldn't necessarily be cheating. Beware though, the darkside of the force is a strong temptation.

4) if you really don't care, you can finish through the game without the items.

To add to potential option 1, you want the loot on the one spawning in the top right corner of the room. You may have killed it elsewhere, but that's the starting position at least.

It's possible you simply didn't check all of them for loot. After searching 4 of them and discovering that they carry nothing more than a 2-Handed Sword+1, you might have assumed the 5th one would be identical, and blown it off as a waste of your time. And if that's what happened, the good loot would of course have evaporated long ago.

Yeah, if you won the fight, it's fair to cheat the items back in. Or even the guy(s) that carried them, if you feel like earning them a second time.

How would I go about doing that?

Re: Demogoran Statue (Spoilers)

Ok, let's see, I'm better at showing than telling, but hopefully I won't confuse things too much.

Step 1) find your baldur.ini file where you installed BG2 should be in your BGII - SoA folder, (not sure where if it would be different for ToB installs)

Step 2) open the file in notepad. And find this:
Quote:

[Program Options]
Installing=0
Install Type=3
Path Search Nodes=32000
Maximum Frame Rate=30
Resolution=800
Full Screen=1
under the program options line insert "Debug Mode=1"
exactly like that minus the quotes.

Step 3) close and save changes.
Step 4) load game, save game, etc.
Step 5) press ctrl+space
Step 6) enter line CLUAConsole:CreateItem('xxx') "xxx" representing the item code.

Adding: Girdle of Frost Giant Strength code is "BELT08"
Armor of the hart +3 is "PLAT16"
