Is it possible to recharge wands, or do you throw them away when they are out of charges?
If it is possible how do I do it?

I do not believe it is possible to recharge them, which is why it is so good to savour them! You might be able to sell them, though, when they are out of charges.

I'm pretty sure they can't be recharged. ;) I might be quoted on this, though, I never use those bloody things anymore.

I don't use them either, but you gotta admit, they do come in handy sometimes!

Cloudkill on Dragons for one (hey, I'm always having bad luck when fighting these things, ok?! ), and selling the Wand of Wonders (thankee, Dundee, for telling me about this). Sometimes, I make Aerie use them too.

All shopkeepers, no matter how destitute, desperate or out-of-luck they may be, carry a small device in their back pocket that enables them to recharge any wand any time for no cost to themselves. Despite the enormous monetary advantage they could gain for offering a recharge service, none of them do.

Upon being sold any wand they will instantly recharge it so they can sell it for more to the next adventurer. Theres nothing to stop you buying it back yourself of course.

intresting

SixOfSpades 09-28-2002 04:31 PM

Absolutely correct. Which is why I don't shoplift Wands.

Also, the amount of $ you can get for selling a Wand is proportional to the charges remaining.

Recharging wands is one of the brighter things you can do. Sure it may cost a pretty penny but it is worth it to have 40 or more Cloudkills at your disposal. With fully charged wands of Cloudkill and Fireball my mage is able to memorize other spells instead.
Word of warning: when you recharge a wand of Magic Missiles you get a wand with 100 charges but it will only shoot off one missile at a time not per level of the wands wielder

The reason I use wands is that I found that it is quite useful for asassinating others from a distance. Like casting fireballs out of the enemies sight range... Also in the early parts of the game, when u r resting in a non-safe zone and ur HP is only like 5, u get waked up by 6 Kabolds, and all u do is fire a fireball at them from the Wand of Fire and the result - barbequed Kabolds.
