HELP! I told Saemon I'd go through the portal instead of with him! (Spoilers)
 

Ok, so this is my third time through SOA. I'm still in Spellhold after fighting Irenicus and freeing the mages etc.
Then Saemon turned up, and for something different I told him I'd go through the portal to the Underdark instead of going with him, just to see how things would turn out.
Then of course (by accident) I quick saved again so now I don't have a save to return to from before my conversation with him. Now it seems the only way to exit Spellhold is through the portal. I have no way of getting back on the island, joining Saemon on the ship, getting to the Sauhagin city etc. Very frustrating!!
Does anyone know of ANY way I can get back to the island and meet up with him and go through the city of the sharkies? I'm willing to try anything (Shadowkeeper etc.) but don't know how.
I would be ridiculously grateful if anyone has an idea or two.

First thing... Is the autosave of any help? I know you quicksaved over, but maybe the Autosave is still untouched...


(EDIT: I just saw the other thread you can't get CLUA to work... but if you dod, this should work)
If you don't mind skipping the encounter with Saemon on the island, I think you could just CLUA yourself to the sahuagin city without problems...

Here's how:

1. Open your Baldurs Gate 2 Directory
2. Copy and make a backup of the file ''baldur.ini''
3. Edit the origional file ''baldur.ini'' with notepad
4. In this file you will see a ''[Program Options]'' heading.
5. Enter a new line under the heading and type or cpy in Debug Mode=1
6. Start up the game and while playing press [Ctrl] + [Space] at the same time. This will bring up a console where you can type stuff into.
7. In the console that should now be visible, type CLUAConsole:EnableCheatKeys()
8. Now the cheat keys should work properly. and you can enter other commands

The command to go to sahuagin city is:

CLUAConsole:MoveToArea("AR2300")

If you're going that route, you should also use Ctrl-J to jump to the point in the map where you would normally spawn. The toppish corner in the left sounds about right, but perhaps someone has an open game and can give a more precise location.

As you have found out, it's possible to skip the Sahuagin city. If you have played BG2 before, why not just skip it? Is there an item you want there?

Yeah that's the conclusion I came to. I have just tdecided to go on without visiting the sharkies. I just used shadowkeeper to get the items in from there that I wanted.
