random dungeon
here's the link I was looking for when I mentioned this on the yahoo site:
http://www.aarg.net/~minam/dungeon.cgi It even populates the map with encounters, room details, and "stuff" (like "odor: unidentifiable"?) Anyhow, just thought that since they code up a java appelet program to print out a pretty lil' map, why we couldn;t do something like that in DC. Oh well, still can't code it myself (so you won't hear me complain (much)) ;) -SilentThief |
Re: random dungeon
I guess a random dungeon creator could be cool if you wanted to create games for yourself.
Runesword II has this feature and I'd often thought it would be great to have a random design generator for DC, just so I had something to play. :D |
Re: random dungeon
You can use set-level-asl for walls and blockings in combination with random chances to realize a kind of random dungeon. You will probably not be able to create a dungeon that is totally new to yourself, but even if only a few passages are changed by random, the same dungeon will look quite different...
You should only make sure that all areas can be entered... :D |
Re: random dungeon
It would be horrible if you were in a room and one of the random changes made all the doors into walls...and then didn't change them again. :D
