Castlevania: Curse of Darkness glitch?
 

Ok, I'm in the Town of Cordova in the area with all the dead nobles and such and I encountered something called the Duke Mirage, he's miles above the level of myself or the monsters I'm facing. Is he a glitch or does he randomly appear in the area? I did manage to beat him and steal from him in the process but it was a little tough for the area.

Just wondering if anyone else has had this experience?

Well my thanks to those who may have been helping me search, but I believe I've found the information I was looking for. Turns out this creature can occur as a random encounter in certain areas, the same occurs with a creature called Golden Bones.
