Frame Tricks
2 Attachment(s)
I was trying to see if you can pull some picture editing tricks involving your backdrops and the frame. Well, you can; so check these out:

Re: Frame Tricks
I dunno how to put up a pic that you can see on the page. Anyhow, to make this trick work right, you'd have to put the front of the skull on each and every pic that shows up in the small window.

Re: Frame Tricks
To have the images display in your message, they need to be in a browser friendly format- .png, .jpg or .gif

Re: Frame Tricks
er, now you can see them. ;)

This is a trick that was doable in FRUA too, though I can't recall seeing it done more than once or twice. |
Re: Frame Tricks
yes, if you want the overlap to show up correctly; you have to put it on the backdrops too. I added a request on sourceforge for some ability to change the frame in game, there-by perhaps allowing for the animations that overlap the frame (like the dolphin that came out of the frame in FRUA)

Re: Frame Tricks
Cool, SilentThief :D It does seem like a lot of work to add that to each picture that appears in the window, though.
Never saw the dolphin coming out of the frame in FRUA... Sounds cool, though. :D (Were there undersea adventures in FRUA?) |
Re: Frame Tricks
Not that I know of, but FRUA had a lot of the artwork that was done for the goldbox games, and there were planty of undersea pics and a couple of wallsets included with FRUA.

Re: Frame Tricks
Come to think of it, if the durned sprites worked right we could use this trick with the frame to have the 3 moons of Krynn from Dragonlance (hear that steve?). You could alter all your backgrounds to include a graphic like this at the bottom:
0-----0-----0 where the "0"s would be the location of the moons (but not the moons themselves) and have a sprite that shows them in whatever combination of waxing and waning, full or new. but it still hinges on the sprites working right :( SilentThief |
Re: Frame Tricks
Hmm - Krynn is the hardest to get working correctly, since there are so many extra rules that have to get working. Showing the moons (following the rules) is very difficult, getting that to affect memorization of spells is even harder!
I guess that, for a start, just having the classes/races working would be a big first step for Dragonlance games (the moons would be later, I think). |
