The Great Moments of Video Gaming

Okay... here I am with my Playstation 1, and this fabulous new game called 'Resident Evil'.... I slide in the disc and begin to play.... on this is good!

Anyway, I explore for a bit... kill a Zombie, then I open this door and begin to walk down this corridor... all is silent except for the creepy music. Then a Zombie dog crashes through a pane of glass. The controller goes flying across the room. I let out a real girlie scream and almost expire from a heart attack!

It is one moment that has almost stuck with me, it terrified the bejesus out of me,

So what is a classic moment from a video game for you?

Link going from a child to an adult in Ocarina of Time. :D

Not so classic, but a couple days ago, I accidentally performed a Leap of Faith in Assassin's Creed and it was incredible, especially since I didn't intend to do it.

Defeating your reflection in the original Prince of Persia. Actually, all bits with the reflection were neat.

Few things compare to the feeling I experienced years ago, playing the original Might & Magic on an Apple ][e...

Walking along, and a simple question...

Dragon town meeting... Disrupt (Y/N)?

I ran back to town like a scared rabbit to save my game (since that was the only place you could save it), then went back to disrupt. One of every dragon... it was truly a tremendous combat.

West of House
You are standing in an open field west of a white house, with a boarded front door.
There is a small mailbox here.

(Zork, the first adventure game I ever played)

Next there's the first graphic adventure game I played, Ultima 3 Exodus - after that game I was hooked.

Then there's the first time I Chainsaw'd a pinky in Doom I, and when Duke Nukem looked in the bathroom mirror and said "Damn I'm pretty!".

The first time I went through Ravenholm in HL2, standing on top of a building and I can hear the monsters coming through town, then I can see them in the distance - coming on fast, I switch weapons, my palms get sweaty, waiting. If it was real I'd have been shifting from foot to foot as I wait... wait... wait for them to get to me, the suspense is crazy - then the next instant they're THERE, and you're furiously fighting for your life.

Hmm. The Shalebridge Cradle level of Thief 3.

The original Zelda on NES, way back when.

Finishing Fallout 1 as Natalia with only Dogmeat as a companion.. and keeping him alive!

The first time i picked up a plasma gun in Doom.

Winning a battle in Rome:Total war against all odds.

my 300 odd Carthaginian infantry (the weak guys) holding the walls against 1200 Gauls, fighting them as they come up the ladders.

Even though after i had set up the formations etc i didnt do much, i was glued to the screen for the entire time.

Sever: You kept Dogmeat alive? I salute you.

Speaking of Fallout, I remember when I found my first Stealth Boy from a giant dinosaur footprint in one of the special rendom encounters.

I have sooooo many....

I'll guess I'll post my most recent funny experience:

In Crysis, they put the "Use" button (F) right next to the grenade button (G) so I have blown myself up about a dozen times so far trying to pick up ammo or get in a vehicle....
