Enhanced Walls II

I have made the diagonal-walls-slots wider than before.
Why did I do this? Because now the walls can be used to "simulate" floors! You have to experiment a little bit and use at least two walls for proper results, but I for example now managed to create an acceptable bridge. Should also be possible to create docks without doing dozends of background images!
However, I think that only a few people (like harbour designer Manikus?) really need those enhanced walls...

Re: Enhanced Walls II

Ah yes! Some of you might want to add these walls to the config.sys without deleting the former wall type 2. In this case, keep in mind that you have to change every 2 into a 4 or 5 or whatever you like... e.g.
WIDTH_WALL_FORMAT_4 = 1500
HEIGHT_WALL_FORMAT_4 = 375
NUM_DISTANT_WALLS_4 = 5

A4_WALL_RECT = 132,2,220,213
B4_WALL_RECT = 406,2,494,213
...

:) This looks cool. I'll have to see what I can do with this. :)

Forgot to mention that the yellow part of the wall is the "standard wall" position.

This wall type can also be used to place tables, holes and trapdoors in the center of a square.

Re: Enhanced Walls II

Good to know. That's kind of what I figured, based off of your other template.

Oh, maaan, this is hard to understand :D Do the wider sides overlap a bit with the middle?

Any example walls using this new coordinate set for reference? (That bridge would be nice... ;) )

Re: Enhanced Walls II

Yes, an example would be nice. ;) Though, I do know how it works. :D

Aaargh, walls, waaaaaalls!

Re: Enhanced Walls II

It's entirely possible to do a design without walls, just using backdrops (a lot of 'em) instead. At one point, Harri Polsa was going to do this make a round building, interior and exterior. You could actually do better perspectives and have thing visible further than three squares away, too. But, it would take a lot of planning.

Re: Enhanced Walls II

Ha ha... not sure I want to do THAT, either! (In a perfect world, there would be a very easy wall method that someone like me could use...) :D
