Bush: "We're kicking ass in Iraq"

The President is feeling pretty confident.

Bush on Iraq: 'We're kicking ass'
http://i.l.cnn.net/cnn/2007/POLITICS...traus.bush.jpg President Bush will give his progress report on Iraq next week, based on information from Gen. David Petraeus.
WASHINGTON (CNN) — When President Bush made a surprise visit to Iraq last weekend, he made clear he was pleased with what he saw.
"The security situation is changing," Bush told reporters during the visit. "There's more work to be done. But reconciliation is taking place."
But according to the Sydney Morning Herald of Australia, the president gave a more-to-the-point assessment to Australia Deputy Prime Minister Mark Vaile.
"We're kicking ass," Bush said to Vaile Tuesday, according the Herald, after the deputy prime minister inquired about his trip to Iraq.
On Thursday, White House spokeswoman Dana Perino would not confirm or deny the reported comment.
This isn't the first blunt comment Bush was overheard making to a world leader. At last year's G8 summit, a live microphone picked up the president telling then-British Prime Minister Tony Blair that the United Nations needs to "get Syria to get Hezbollah to stop doing this s**t."

He must have a different source of information, according to my newssources, Iraq is an even more dangerous place than Afghanistan lately, and for years to come a country in total chaos. Others must be kicking ass as well, looking at the daily boudycount of US soldiers and Iraqi civilians.

Yep, mission accomplished......NOT.

There have been positive signs... but if Vietnam taught us anything, it's that we can 'kick ass' for years and still lose.

I've got 2 cents:

Bush and the other politicians who are "on the defense industry's payroll" want the U.S. military to remain involved in Iraq for a long time. Forever being the best timeframe for quarterly profits. See Why We Fight for some backdrop on this opinion.

We are kicking ass in Iraq. Any force that attempts to defeat us loses. Everywhere the enemy goes they are hunted and destroyed. We f'ng "destroyed and rebuilt the place twice now", Kicking ass is a understatment.

LMAO it seems nothing changes.

Johnny news flash the whole world is chaotic and danergous that's why none of us are going to get out of here alive.

Thoran the USA got out of Veitnam in 1973, the Vetinam war ended in 1975, so unless the USA some how has the power to travel through time the USA didn't lose the war. Oh by the way I'm a few year older then you and am able to remember the war first hand.

Chewy, gots to love it, you ain't changed. By the way while you're looking for the conspir-rassies, the Knights Templar aren't behind everything.

Please, you act like you know everything, and that I am a dolt. Hardly grounds for an enjoyable discussion, but I will persist. Which conspiracy theory am I looking for? What does the knights templar have to do with it?

Sorry to burst your bubble JD but I'm a few years older then you ;) and was in the Army at the tail end of that mess and yes we did loose, not the battles but the overall war.

Not so John, i don't have to watch for bombs on both sides of the road when i'm driving. Neither do i have to watch out in what particular religeous section of town i'm walking my dog. I agree that no place on earth is completely safe, but the chaos we've seen after mr. Bush spoke the famous words "mission accomplished" hasn't been seen since the Jewish uprising in Warsaw in WW2.

And now he comes with "we're kicking ass"? By all means....do tell us exactly who's ass it is you're kicking overthere, because i sure as hell can't tell the difference anymore.
