ok heres the scenario: I start the game, get imoen, jahiera and minsc...then when i go to use shadow keeper (i wish to change imoen and minsc and jahiera to a different person) and i open the game again it gives me an error message that says something about a failed assertion. For one, what is a failed assertion and how 2ndly how can i fix it?

If you change to much at once, you get strange errors. Make your schanges one at a time, and you should be able to make it work.
