I was browsing the net with Firefox when suddenly connection was lost after about an hour. I flipped over to Explorer to see if I could get a connection because my modem was not indicating a problem. I was unable to connect to the internet on most sites I tried, but a few of my saved favorites were able to connect...not all of them. I decided that since the problem began while using Firefox, I'd blame it, and deleted it off the machine. I can now access the internet again uninhibited.
By the way, I tried booting Firefox in its safe mode (disconnecting all plugins, etc.) but to no avail. Seems I remember somebody else having a problem similar to this several months ago. |
Crap! How did it do that????
I deleted it off my system, reinstalled it from the website...and it reloaded with all its settings and skins that I had before! WTF?? |
Parts of it were still in your system registry, I'd say.

Probably more in it's config folder. I'm guessing you didn't change the install path.
That's a strange bug, never heard of anything like that, and I'm using quite a bunch of plugins and scripts. |
I don't think the unistaller deletes stuff you have added yourself post-installation. So unless you delete the program folder (or possibly config folder, or possibly both), you get to keep all the stuff you have collected. Certainly, it is a twisted, curdled, corrupted and evil power, but you might as well use it now that it's there.
