I have a hotmail account which I never really use; mostly because I don't know how to set this up in my T'Bird. My provider won't help me 'cos they don't know the settings for it.
Does anyone know where I can get the account settings etc?

What ^^ wrote.

Free hotmail doesn't provide POP3 and SMTP servers so you can't use it with Thunderbird.

Can I do it with outlook? I could use it just for that. I set up the hotmail account for MSN or something about 2 years ago. How can I even see what emails (if any) I have under this address?

If you're signed into MSN with a Hotmail (or Live mail) account MSN tells you when you have new mail.

I just tried to open MSN, but there seems to be some fees involved. Is there a free way to do it?

<font color=8fbc8f>You said *MSN* and *FREE* in the same post! ROFLMAO.

I have yet to control my laughter.

The WebMail extension lets you read both Hotmail and Yahoo! Mail in Mozilla Thunderbird. Thunderbird extension setup is a little different than Firefox: first, save the .xpi files to your computer. From the View menu -> Extensions dialog, install the files, then restart T-bird. The WebMail extension requires at least 2 XPI files, and some option setup, but it works like a charm.

I cannot warrant any compatibility with your OS!

Thanks Felix,
I havn't got a clue what you are talking about, but I'm glad you're having a good laugh!

Felix is saying that if you follow the link he provided, you'll find an add-in for T-bird that will let you read your web-based email. Setup is not as simple as it is for other Mozilla applications, but not too bad.

Ok, so once I do that I will have the email I use all the time to send and receive from and the hotmail as well, which I can do the same with?
