I don't really like rap, so don't keep up on all the goings-on with that, but saw this yesterday. It's a video of a rapper named Akon who asked his guards to grab a kid in the crowd who apparently threw a ball or something at him. The guards get the kid and Akon lifts him up and tosses him into the crowd. YouTube has now taken down the video (because of pending lawsuits I'm assuming) but I did find the video still up at this site:

Watch it and tell me what you think. Is it attempted murder? Personally I don't think it is, but I definitely DO think this Akon loser needs to pay for what he did. I understand he was mad having something thrown at him, but he was not injured from it. Tossing that kid over could have resulted in a lot of injury, not only to the kid, but to all the people he threw the kid AT! I'd have been pissed off if he tossed some kid at me!

I'm no lawyer, but i'd say this is definitely assault or some such. If the guy would press charges, this Akon dude is probably up for a hefty sum. :D

I would doubt it's attempted murder, and it'd probably be battery assuming the kid didn't have any serious injuries.

Stupid stupid stupid...He'll probably wish he'd not done that.

Really lame, thing is it does look kinda malicious so the kid probably deserves some compensation.

Tho hopefully he's learnt his lesson about winding up rappers, I mean imagine it wasnt Akon and actually someone credible like say the Wu he'd
be taking on the shaolin!

I heard Verizon has now dumped the tour him and Gwen Stefani are doing. So looks like some consequences are happening. I bet the kid though won't sue. He walked away and hasn't said a word, so if he wanted to make a big stink about it I reckon he already would have. Of course, all the Johnny Cochrans around may change his mind LOL. :D

This is one instance where I really think the kid should sue. Some of these artists seem to forget who it is that really butters their bread, and if they have to pay through the nose a time or two, they'll figure it out, I'd hope. A contract with a big label, or any label, doesn't mean squat if you aren't making them any money. They have lawyers, and ways out of those contracts. Put the "thugs" back on the street, and maybe they'll be nicer to their fan base. Not everyone can be Axle Rose, after all.

Ladyzekke 06-07-2007 09:41 AM

LOL, doesn't Axle Rose have a bad habit of not showing up at all to his concerts? He doesn't have a good reputation at all over here, people think he's a giant tool LOL. I myself haven't tried to go to a Guns N Roses concert before, so not sure if the rumors are true or not.

Geez, I could understand him being miffed at having something thrown but that was over the top for sure! I hope the kid makes some sort of agreement, even if he doesn't make a big newsmedia thing out of it. He shouldn't have been treated like that!

Looks like a publicity stunt to me.
