Recently on my computer, Azureus, which I obviously only use for legal downloads, has been giving me errors and I can't figure out why. I can't see anything that's changed on my PC so any help would be a great... well.. help.
The Messages go: 'Failed to establish listen on port UDP: 53937 Check that other applications aren't using this port. Also check for another copy of azureus running' AAAaaand: 'UPnP: Mapping 'Incoming Peer Data Port (UDP/53937) 'failed' It still downloads just pretty damn slowly. Any ideas? How'd I check ports and what not? Hmmm... |
To check which ports are open you could for example use Start->Run->cmd and then type "netstat -a" (without quotes). There you can see if any other application is using that port.

Ports may also be listed in your services file, which is often found in
%windows%\system32\drivers\etc\services Note that "services" is a file with no extension... |
I always recommend a quick stop here when dealing with firewalls, and Data Ports. It is safe to my knowledge, I use it all the time to test different set-ups.
