A friend of mine's sister is a finalist for a competition being held by Prevention Magazine. She's a breast cancer survivor (first in a whole family of breast cancer survivors), and wants to educate more women about the need for checkups and exams so they can avoid the ultimate side effect of breast cancer.
A note from my friend...

Quoting Julann Vittone :
Hello everyone -
My sister Janet is one of the 5 finalists in the Prevention magazine contest. If she wins 2 things will happen: 1 - she'll be donating $5,000.00 to Susan G. Komen Foundation and 2 - she'll be the October Prevention Magazine guest editor.
My sister Janet wants to educate people about breast cancer. October is breast cancer awareness month. I think it would be wonderful for her to win. Just think of all the lives she can touch.

The link leads to Janet's brief story and a link where you can vote. Please take a minute and cast a vote.
*edit* BTW, someone else has pointed out to me that the tidbit above about cleaning your cookies to vote again may not exactly be fair. I agree, but I sent along Julann's note as she wrote it. Let your conscience be your guide.
Thanks!
