Think back many years ago.... when I graduated, I remember getting reminders to register.

That being said, do they ask you if you did or not? If so, then answer truthfully. If not, then don't answer... and tell them you thought you did, if they ask, but it's been so long... ;)

Unless, of course, you decided not to register as some form of protest...

Well, you could try calling the Selective Service registration information line at 1-847-688-6888.

A few other things:
The requirement to register was only started in 1980. Because of this if you were born before 1959 then you don't need to register.

If you were supposed to register and didn't then you should be concerned about the fact you've commited a felony that is punishable by up to 5 years in jail and a pretty massive fine.

I didn't register, but I served, so I guess I didn't have to.

That depends on how long you serve. If you leave the military before the cutoff age (26?) then you are suppsed to register.

At that site, you can see if you are registered. I did-- told me the date I did it too! crazy..

it's illegal for any male in the united states over the age of 18 to not be registered for the selective service. IF you're not signed up you really should ASAP.

I had to register at age 22, after I my term in the Marines (joined at 17), got a letter in mail. Kinda surprised me but I did it.
