Im new to this game and I need help.
Pls answer my questions.... 1. How do you beat the golems easilly? like what weapon to use. The golems ive encountered so far are stone, flesh, iron, and adamantine. 2. How do you back stab? I make my thief hide in shadows but when I let him attack he leaves shadows and attacks. I have 2 weapons on does this mean that he cant backstab? |
Welcome to the board!!!
1. Flesh golems - you need magical weapons. Clay golems - you need magical blunt weapons. Stone golems - magical weapons that are at least +2. Also, in my experience some of the smaller weapons, like daggers and arrows, won't work. Iron and adamantite golems - magical weapons that are at least +3. 2. Have your thief hide in shadows. Place him directly behind whatever he is going to backstab. Make sure he is using a melee weapon that a single class thief can use, such as a longsword or a club. Have him attack. The message screen will say he is leaving shadows but then it will also say "backstab". Note that there are a few creatures that cannot be backstabbed. The number of weapons you have equipped shouldn't matter. If you still can't backstab, maybe you aren't hitting your target in the first place; thieves aren't exactly well known for their fighting abilities. Actually Iron Golems can be damaged with any magical melee weapon, they just have fairly high PR, and HUGE MR, so it's tough to hurt them. Use elemental wpns against golems (Fire Tongue, FoA, CF, etc.)

SPOILER ! ! ! !
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. Do the D'Arnese keep with Nalia, and you will get the Hammer +1, +3 against giant kin. That will take on most golems fairly well. |
1. I am not sure whether the hammer mentioned by The Relic will do. If I understand well, the "giant kin" means Ettins and similar races but not golems. I don't know. I tried the hammer only shortly and then I sold it.
2. I was never able to hit Iron or Adamantine Golem with something worse than +3. Perhaps, the golems in Suldanesellar can be hit but they are really weak compared with the golems you will meet earlier in the game. 3. Fighting Iron and Adamantine golems. You'd better attack them from a distance. They are huge so that they always hang in doors or narrow corridors. Let them hang, catch your ranged weapons and attack from a safe distance. You will need +3 ranged weapons. Available +3 ranged weapons in the game: Tansheron Bow, Sling of Everard, Rifthome Axe, Azuredge, darts from Cloak of Stars, and IIRC, some throwing daggers. Also, Mordekainen Swords are +4. |

3. If you lack these, then weapons with a long reach, such as two handed swords, halberds, staves, and flails, may also be used to attack from a safe distance. |
You need +3 enchanted weapons to hit Iron/Adamantium Golems.

try some blunt weapons (+2 or +3) like flail of ages, tey are good with humanoids!!! are they not!
